About Julia Han
Iām a lifelong maker dedicated to cultivating a relationship with the land of Southern California through observation, ecological awareness, respect for tradition, and craft.
I engage with this place through its seasons and plants, as well as through the knowledge and practices carried forward by those who have long known how to tend this land with care and wisdom.
I deepen my connection by crafting small-scale woven objects with local plant fibers, guided by their seasonal availability, ecological distribution, and material qualities. I also explore wild food as a way of engaging with knowledge that has long sustained human communities, while reconnecting with my own Korean heritage of foraging and wild food traditions.
I am committed to sustaining these practices through responsible sharing and a reciprocal and restrained approach to harvesting.
