About
Julia Han weaves her sense of place between her birthplace of South Korea and her current residence of Southern California through foraging, craft, and wild food. Drawing on material knowledge and traditional wisdom from both places, she seeks to nurture embodied creativity, sustenance, and connection.
Working primarily with invasive plants, she crafts objects with foraged plant fibers, carefully gathering materials based on seasonal availability and ecological distribution. She also explores traditional Korean food preservation and flavor techniques through the wild foods of her local landscape.
Julia views her practice as an act of deep care for herself, her community, and the land she resides on.
